The Goodwood Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard will welcome Atlassian Williams Racing to the STEM Lab by EDB as part of the campus of FOS Future Lab presented by Randox.
The Formula 1 team will bring an interactive display to the FOS Future Lab campus, as they highlight next-generation driver protection, giving visitors the chance to test their Formula 1 driving reflexes.
Attendees can also build a crumple zone and get up close to the tyres, race suits and precision-engineered components used by the Formula 1 team; before enjoying the thrill of a podium moment.
1,000 school children are primed to enjoy FOS Future Lab, aided by TikTok star, The Rapping Science Teacher, Matt Green. Matt Green said: “I am thrilled to be the first FOS Future Lab STEM Ambassador. It is essential we encourage young people to shape our world and empower more women and girls into STEM careers. At FOS Future Lab I’m leading STEM tours to show science is for everyone. I can’t wait to support this ambition at FOS Future Lab.”
Future Lab Ambassador Tim Peake said: “FOS Future Lab inspires thousands of visitors every year and is an incredible forum in which to learn about the science and technology driving our understanding of the Universe.”
At FOS Future Lab the Atlassian Williams Racing Future Lab exhibit includes:
- Formula 1 equipment – helmets, tyres, race suit, side pod and more
- Wind tunnel model – a rare insight into aerodynamics
- Hands-on STEM challenges – build a crumple zone and test your reflexes on the Batak station

- Podium photo opportunity – capture a winning moment!
The Atlassian Williams Racing STEM Experience at FOS Future Lab reflects the STEM education programme at the team’s headquarters in Oxfordshire where pupils get a behind-the-scenes look at one of Formula 1’s most iconic teams and take part in a hands-on learning aimed at inspiring the next generation of scientists, engineers, and innovators.
Groups of students from year 4 to year 11 explore key areas of the Williams technology campus, including the team’s world-famous heritage collection, where they have the chance to see legendary race cars driven by the likes of Formula 1 Champions Nigel Mansell, Damon Hill, and Alain Prost, who will attend the Goodwood Festival of Speed this year.
James Vowles, Team Principal, Atlassian Williams Racing: said: “Developing bright young minds has always been part of our DNA at Atlassian Williams Racing, and it’s central to our ambition of winning World Championships again. Formula 1 can sometimes feel like an impossible dream, but we want all children to see first-hand where a career in STEM can lead. By showing what’s possible, we hope to inspire them to choose science, technology, engineering, and maths as part of their education. Our pioneering schools outreach programme is about sparking that initial interest and showing there’s a place here for anyone with a passion for innovation, curiosity, and problem-solving.”
The Atlassian Williams Racing’s major schools outreach initiative is unique in Formula 1, welcoming 10,000 schoolchildren from across the UK through its doors in 2025. The programme introduces students to real-world STEM challenges in an inspirational setting, opening minds to future careers in engineering, data science, and beyond.
