Three children's charities have received a welcome boost after the annual Classics on Track for Children charity track day held at Goodwood Motor Circuit on 4 June 2026 raised almost £24,000.
Founded by Paul Auston in 2014, Classics on Track for Children brings together owners and enthusiasts of classic and GT sports cars to enjoy a day on the historic circuit while raising funds for children's charities chosen by Her Grace The Duchess of Richmond. Since its inception, the event has raised more than £275,000 for good causes across West Sussex.
This year's fundraising efforts resulted in donations of almost £10,000 each to Child Bereavement UK and the Goodwood Education Trust, and £4,000 for the Sylvia Beaufoy Youth and Community Centre's Greenpower Challenge.
Her Grace The Duchess of Richmond said: "I am enormously grateful to Paul and everyone involved in Classics on Track for Children for their continued generosity and commitment. For more than a decade, this wonderful event has raised vital funds for charities that make a real difference to the lives of children and young people across our community. The support shown year after year is truly inspiring, and I would like to thank everyone who has helped make this year's event such a success."
Paul Auston, founder of Classics on Track for Children, said: "What began as an opportunity for people to enjoy their cars while supporting good causes has grown into something very special. We are delighted to be able to donate these funds to three outstanding charities whose work has such a positive impact on young people and families. None of this would be possible without the generosity of our participants, sponsors, volunteers and supporters, and I would like to thank them all for helping us make a difference once again."
The donations will help to support bereaved children and families through the vital work of Child Bereavement UK. Child Bereavement UK recently merged with Winston's Wish, a charity long supported by Goodwood, and now operates under the Child Bereavement UK name, with former Winston's Wish Chief Executive Fergus Crow joining the combined organisation. The funds will also provide vital outdoor learning opportunities through the Goodwood Education Trust, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, and will also support the Sylvia Beaufoy Youth and Community Centre's Greenpower Challenge, which gives young people the chance to design, build and race an electric car, promoting teamwork and inspiring interest in STEM and engineering. Together, these donations will help to ensure that more children and young people can access the support, opportunities and experiences they need to thrive.
