FABULOUS FIREWORKS & FAIRGROUND FUN IN STORE FOR THE BANK HOLIDAY AT GOODWOOD RACECOURSE

From a sensational firework display on Friday evening to the superb racing across the weekend, the August Bank Holiday fixture at Goodwood Racecourse, 23 – 25 August, promises to be nothing short of spectacular.

Throughout the meeting, racegoers can enjoy a range of family activities including; a traditional fairground with a ferris wheel and helter-skelter, a petting zoo, face painters and trips to the start.

The fabulous racing features the Group 2 Celebration Mile on Saturday, which seen an illustrious role of honour in recent years including the likes of Lightning Spear and Beat The Bank.

The Silk Series, a pioneering series of races for female jockeys returns to Goodwood for the second time on Sunday. With Goodwood Racecourse ambassador Megan Nicholls leading by 44 points as her quest continues to secure a third successive victory in the initiative. Consisting of thirteen races across the summer and hosted at racecourses around Britain, it offers over £150,000 in prize money and is designed to provide more opportunities for professional and amateur female jockeys.

Goodwood Racecourse General Manager, Alex Eade comments; “The Silk Series has been a tremendous success, and we are delighted to be involved here at Goodwood once again.

“Bank Holiday Weekend is a wonderful atmosphere, whether it be a day out with family and friends or an opportunity to enjoy some of our great hospitality on offer in the Sussex Roof Garden or Long View.

“The Celebration Mile is one of our feature racedays outside of the Qatar Goodwood Festival, and it is always hotly contested. With great entertainment across all enclosures, there is no better place to spend the weekend.”
