Goodwoof | Press Article 01/05/25

  • Calling all dachshund owners! Goodwoof collaborates with The Connaught Hotel to create limited edition dachshund paw-tisserie.
  • Goodwoof takes place Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 May 2025.
  • Early bird tickets are available at goodwood.com

Goodwood is delighted to announce its first collaboration with The Connaught in honour of Goodwoof’s celebrated breed for 2025: the dachshund. A Goodwoof twist on the fêted Connaughty Hound patisserie, this spring will see The Duke of Richmond’s own trusty hound, Winston, immortalised in cake form by Nicolas Rouzaud at The Connaught, with 10% of proceeds going to Goodwoof’s charity partner, Wild at Heart Foundation.

Both The Connaught and Goodwood have long been known for their warm welcome, not just to people, but to their four-legged friends. For one month only, the legendary Connaught Hound cake will transform into a limited-edition dachshund cake created by master pâtissier Nicolas Rouzaud and his team at Nicolas Rouzaud at The Connaught.

Launched in 2025, the Maison de Haute Pâtisserie Nicolas Rouzaud is known for exquisite fruit-focused pastries, each created with a profound respect for French culinary traditions, combined with a lightness of touch and a hint of nostalgia.

Carefully crafted, the dachshund cake features a Gianduja milk chocolate mousse atop an orange pain de Gene sponge finished with Hukambi milk chocolate spray and an orange-vanilla chocolate glaze, to honour Goodwoof’s signature and bold orange.

The Connaught’s limited edition dachshund cake offers dog-lovers a delicious way to celebrate this bold breed, and gives them a taste of what’s to come at Goodwoof.

About Goodwoof
Goodwoof is a celebration of all that we love about dogs on the Goodwood Estate. It takes place in the fields around the James Wyatt-designed Kennels, which is now the social home of our sporting membership on Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 May 2025. The event offers a wide range of activities and demonstrations designed to delight, entertain and inform. Dog owners and their families and friends can encourage their own dog to have a go, browse our carefully hand-picked retailers, enjoy a dip in Fido’s Lido, sit back with a glass of Taittinger champagne, relax in The Randox Health Studio with a spot of sound bathing, reiki or Dog Yoga, or marvel at the clever kennels designed by architects from around the world as part of the Barkitecture competition.
