Goodwood is pleased to announce that Ellie Cundy has taken over as General Manager of The Kennels, the clubhouse for all its sporting and social members.
Ellie brings a diverse pool of experience to the role. She began her career working for De Vere Hotels, moving to join P&O Cruises on their flagship cruiser Oriana in 2002. As Food & Beverage Services Manager she found the challenges of being at sea with over 2,000 passengers, 760 staff, 13 bars and seven restaurants to be a hugely rewarding experience. Home soil beckoned and she became Operations Manager at the Macdonald hotel, The Compleat Angler. It was here that she met Andrew Coggings, who was Regional Managing Director for the Macdonald Group and became a great mentor. Andrew is currently Entertaining & Hospitality Managing Director at Goodwood.
Ellie then jumped at the opportunity to be Hotel Manager at Oxford’s 5-star hotel The Randolph. Having interviewed for the role a year previously, before the hotel suffered a damaging fire, it was a fitting move for Ellie to finally get her chance to work here.
Ellie plans to bring a fresh approach to The Kennels and is passionate about meeting all the members and their guests. She says,
“I am thrilled to join the team here and be part of the Goodwood family. I can’t wait to get to know our members over the coming months. We are so lucky to have this incredible food story of farm to table produce and the whole ethos of what Goodwood is about is so exciting to me”.
