Goodwood Home Farm is proud to announce that its Organic Pork Belly, Organic Topside of Beef and Traditional Organic Pork Sausage have been awarded in the Great Taste 2016 Awards, organised by the Guild of Fine Food.
The produce was awarded a 3 Star for the Pork Belly, 2 Star for the Topside of Beef and a 1 Star for the Traditional Pork Sausage.
Goodwood’s Organic Pork Belly also rose to the top and has been named as one of Britain’s Top 50 Foods.
This result means Goodwood’s Organic Pork Belly joins the ranks of some of the most outstanding foods available.
Out of the 10,000 entries into this year’s Great Taste awards, 141 were awarded a 3-star accolade. The 3-star winners were eligible to be re-judged for the 2016 Top 50 foods by the highly esteemed panel of judges, consisting of food critics, chefs, cooks, restaurateurs and producers as well as a whole host of food writers and journalists
Judges at Great Taste 2016 said “This is an excellent example of Old Spot/Saddleback pork roast. The meat is full of flavour with unctuous melt in the mouth fat. Superb.”
“Carves beautifully, melts off the bone. Very rounded, big flavour. The dark meat is very succulent, moist and full flavoured, a real Sunday lunch treat.”
Great Taste 2016 is an acknowledged benchmark for fine food and drink. It has been described as the ‘Oscars’ of the food world and the ‘epicurean equivalent of the Booker prize’.
