Horse Racing | Press Article 17/04/24

Goodwood Racecourse and e-Mersion Media Pty Ltd, will collaborate to produce fully interactive digital race cards for 2021.

This new innovation will provide race goers with the ability to access the fully immersive race card, ‘wage from the page’, be updated on runners and riders as well as interact with event partners special offers from home or on course.

From the Opening Weekend on the 30 April, encompassing 18 further meeting including the May Festival and Qatar Goodwood Festival, race goers will have full and free access to the digital race card via their own mobile device (tablet and phone) as well as web browser.

The digital race card is expected to significantly enhance the Goodwood patrons experience and is an extension of the existing e-Mersion Media / Goodwood relationship that commenced in March 2020 with the launch of the fully interactive Goodwood Magazine.

Jon Barnett, Goodwood Racecourse Director, commented: “The new Goodwood digital racecard from e-Mersion delivers greater functionality than we have had previously, with lots of fun and innovative ideas in the pipeline to help drive the adoption rate from print to digital.

“This is part of a journey for the time being and those race goers that still want to purchase a printed racecard will be able to do so. We are confident though that the use of a digital racecard by many Goodwood racegoers will soon be the norm and more importantly it’s free to the end user”

Christopher Styring, Executive Director Commercial e-Mersion Media, added: "With so many of our favorite events being closed to patrons over the last year, forcing us to watch at home, we hope our fully interactive digital race card restores some of the enjoyment and connection for race goers. We believe that not being able to attend shouldn't stop you from being actively involved and our platform delivers a beautifully curated digital experience regardless of where you are via mobile, tablet and web browser.

We are hugely excited by the opportunity to grow our relationship with Goodwood and be so involved in one of the world’s finest horse racing festivals and look forward to seeing full crowds back on course.”
