Goodwood Racecourse has partnered with luxury Hungarian brand Kincsem in a multi-year deal that sees them as the official sponsor of the Owners & Trainers facility for all meetings at the Sussex course, starting with this week’s Qatar Goodwood Festival. Tibor Bak, Founder of Kincsem Group, presented the trophy to the winner of today’s Coral Kincsem Handicap Stakes.
The Kincsem company takes its name from the famous Hungarian thoroughbred who holds the longest undefeated record of any racehorse, winning all 54 of her races between 1874-78, including the Goodwood Cup in 1878. Kincsem has commissioned a new hand-made trophy for the race, which took over 330 hours to make.
In addition, Kincsem will have their new range of luxury bags on display in the Winners Room throughout QGF and be supplying bottles of their 2001 Tokaj Hetszolo Aszu sweet wine to guests at the Regency Ball on Thursday night. The company’s most exciting and innovative project is developing a new hydrogen-powered hyper car – the Kincsem Hyper GT - for release in 2025.
Tibor Bak, Founder of the Kincsem Group, said: “After 145 years, Kincsem has returned to Goodwood. Our company products, including the Kincsem Hyper GT, embody passion, performance and an ability to rewrite fundamental rules – just like the most successful mare in racing history who won the Goodwood Cup all those years ago. My vision is that, when people see our brand and products, they will feel her legacy and be inspired to be unbeaten in their fields, just as she was on the racecourse.”
The Duke of Richmond said: “This is a very exciting partnership with a brand name very close to the heart of horse-racing. Kincsem’s luxury brand offering fits very much in line with many different aspects of Goodwood and our various events. We are very much looking forward to developing the partnership with Kincsem over the coming years and in various ways.”
