Goodwood today announces that Goodwoof - the ultimate dog’s day out - will take a hiatus in 2027.
Having celebrated its fifth edition this year, the dog event like no other has brought boundless joy and energy to thousands of canines and their owners.
2027 will be a landmark year for Goodwood, with the transformation of the Hotel, the expansion of the Goodwood Road Racing Club into the United States and the redevelopment of the Lennox Enclosure at the Racecourse. With this in mind, it felt right to reflect on Goodwoof’s remarkable journey and celebrate everything it has achieved.
Since its inception in 2022, Goodwoof has welcomed more than 97,000 humans and 57,000 dogs, while raising over £150,000 for five incredible charities. From the very best in Canicross, Flyball, gundogs and sheepdogs, to celebrated names from literature, music and fashion, Goodwoof has brought together an extraordinary cast of characters, including canine icon Snoopy.
Over 70 bespoke kennels were created for the event’s kennel design competition, Barkitecture, which was co-curated by renowned designer and presenter Kevin McCloud MBE. Auctioned for charity over the event weekend, several of the designs were bought by The Duke of Richmond and have already found a permanent home on the Estate.
Together with our partners, supporters, competitors, exhibitors and suppliers, we believe we created something truly special, and are immensely proud to have created an experience that has inspired and delighted so many people and their pets.
Dogs have always been a part of life here at Goodwood, dating back to the arrival of the first Duke of Richmond and Gordon on the Estate in 1697. We look forward to continuing to welcome our canine clientele, whether that's making themselves comfortable in one of our holiday cottages, sampling a tasty treat or two in one of our restaurants or cafes, or settling down by the fire in The Kennels.
Customers who have already purchased tickets will automatically receive a full refund within five working days.
