GT RACING CARS TO STAR IN SUNDAY SHOOTOUT

Festival of Speed | Press Article 17/04/24

Following the huge success of 2016’s BTCC shootout, this year’s Festival of Speed will embrace the opportunity to see stars from the world of GT racing pitted against each other on the famous Hillclimb.

Leading the way, fresh from a dramatic victory in the Le Mans 24 Hours, will be the Aston Martin Vantage GTE. Jonny Adam, who took the chequered flag at the Circuit de la Sarthe, will be the man behind the wheel. Also coming direct from Le Mans, from the hugely exciting Carrera Cup support race, will be the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car, piloted by Carrera Cup competitor, Charlie Eastwood.

GT3 will be well represented, with Bentley bringing its Blancpain challenger, the Continental GT3 to the table with Andy Soucek at the wheel, going up against Goodwood favourite Anthony Reid in the Arrinerra Hussarya GT3 and the Lexus RC-F GT3. Finally, Ford and McLaren will go head-to-head in a pair of GT4 cars, with McLaren bringing the 570S GT4, taking on Le Mans pilot Billy Johnson in the Ford Mustang GT4.

The shootout will form part of Sunday’s final timed shootout, which will be broadcast live on Sky Sports at 15:55.
