  • McLaren Racing announces impressive line-up set to race at the Festival of Speed to celebrate their 60th
  • The Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard, takes place Thursday 13 – Sunday 16 July.

Goodwood are delighted to announce that McLaren Racing has today unveiled an impressive line-up of headline cars from its long and illustrious history of racing at the Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard. The team will be there to celebrate its 60th anniversary, presented by Official Primary Partner OKX. McLaren will take an unprecedented collection to mark some of the British outfit’s most iconic moments from the past six decades, together with an exciting selection of decorated drivers.

The fantastic collection of cars and drivers includes Mika Häkkinen returning to his 1999 championship-winning MP4/14A, JJ Lehto in Lewis Hamilton’s 2008 MP4/23A-05 championship-winner, and NEOM McLaren Extreme E driver Emma Gilmour taking on the hill in the 1970 Can-Am M8D-01. Emerson Fittipaldi will drive his 1974 M23-05 alongside Emanuele Pirro piloting Prost and Lauda’s MP4/2B-03. The 1988 race winning MP4/4-01 will be on display with the NEOM McLaren Extreme E show car and the Triple Crown liveried show car.

Goodwood is synonymous with McLaren as the test track of choice for the team’s founder, Bruce McLaren. Indeed, the team’s fortunes were forged there following Bruce’s tragic passing and Goodwood is a fitting location to pay homage to the team’s long and successful history, offering fans the opportunity to get up close and personal with these motorsport icons.

Zak Brown, CEO, McLaren Racing said: “Goodwood and the Festival of Speed have such an important place in McLaren’s history. It is the place our story began in many ways, so a fitting place to mark our 60th. I’m excited to be able to bring such an impressive selection of cars and drivers to celebrate our anniversary in a big way. Our fans are such a huge part of our history; what better way to honour them than giving them the opportunity for a closer look at these icons. It’s going to be a fantastic four days.”

The Duke of Richmond said: “We’re honoured that McLaren will be joining us at the Festival of Speed this summer to celebrate their 60th anniversary. In such a special year for the brand, I know our fans will be thrilled to see the greatest-ever collection of cars and drivers from McLaren’s history. As we celebrate 30 years of the Festival of Speed and 75 years of motorsport at Goodwood, we look forward to welcoming McLaren and writing another chapter in our long and shared history.”

This year, all of the McLaren cars will parade up the hill together in a celebratory run in collaboration with our colleagues at McLaren Automotive. More details of how fans can get involved with the team, including competitions to win tickets with OKX, will be announced across McLaren social media channels and the McLaren Plus community in due course.

About the Goodwood Revival
Goodwood Revival is an immersive celebration of vintage lifestyle, championing exceptional craftsmanship and the enduringly fabulous stories told by second-hand treasures. ‘Revive & Thrive’ is the thoroughly modern message woven through the Revival landscape; a clever stitch with which the old is made new again, it runs through every carefully restored classic car, each beautifully preserved piece of clothing as it is passed from one generation to the next.

It is, proudly, the world’s biggest and most glamorous second-hand event.

Goodwood 75
2023 is a landmark year in the event’s history: this September we celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Goodwood Motor Circuit’s opening and 25 years since Revival began in 1998.
