Mighty Mustangs: First race announced for the 81st Members’ Meeting

Members Meeting | Press Article 17/04/24

  • Goodwood to host a spectacular collection of Ford Mustangs in the new Ken Miles Cup presented by LGT Wealth Management at the 81st Members’ Meeting presented by Audrain Motorsport.
  • The Ken Miles Cup will celebrate 60 years of the Ford Mustang.
  • The 81st Members’ Meeting takes place Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 April 2024.

As we gear up for the 81st Members’ Meeting presented by Audrain Motorsport, Goodwood is thrilled to announce details of the all-Ford Mustang race, the Ken Miles Cup presented by LGT Wealth Management under the Governorship of Grant Reid.

Renowned for their powerful engines and iconic design, the inaugural all-Mustang race will see a herd of up to 30 of the magnificent muscle cars take to the historic Motor Circuit. The extraordinary race will celebrate the model's 60th anniversary and pay tribute to esteemed British driver, engineer and mechanic Ken Miles who claimed the first major race victory for a Mustang.

Goodwood is delighted to dedicate the Ford Mustang race to such a poignant figure in Ford's racing history as we honour Ken Miles' legacy with an outstanding line-up of Ford Mustangs from the 1960s. Having been integral in the development and success of the 1965 GT350R Mustang alongside Carroll Shelby - the celebrated driver at this year's Goodwood Revival - the "Flying Mustang'' has made the legendary driver synonymous with the brand ever since.

The 45-minute race will also be joined by some of the world’s greatest drivers, from Grand Prix and 24 Hours of Le Mans winners to Touring Car Champions, as each Ford Mustang features two drivers taking the reins in a head-to-head battle for the cup.

Taking place across the weekend, the Ken Miles Cup will join the full race schedule for the 81st Members’ Meeting, Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 April.

Tickets for the 81st Members’ Meeting are available to Goodwood Road Racing Club Members here and will go on sale to Fellows of the GRRC from Thursday 31 August. Further information about joining the Fellowship is available here.
