- Formula 1 World Champion Jacques Villeneuve to make Goodwood Revival racing debut.
- Goodwood Revival takes place Friday 12 - Sunday 14 September. Limited tickets available at com.
Goodwood Revival is set to welcome 1997 Formula 1 World Champion Jacques Villeneuve who will both compete in the event’s Royal Automobile Club (RAC) TT Celebration, widely recognised as the world’s preeminent historic motor race.
Villeneuve will return to Goodwood in September - having driven Niki Lauda’s Ferrari 312 B3 at the Festival of Speed this year – and make his Revival racing debut behind the wheel of the “Hairy Canary” - a 1963 AC Cobra.
One of only a few drivers to win both the Formula 1 World Championship and the Indy 500, Villeneuve has enjoyed an incredibly versatile motorsport career, competing in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Daytona 500, FIA World Endurance Championship and NASCAR. Known for his fearless driving style, Villeneuve will compete at the Goodwood Revival for the first time this year.
Formula 1 World Champion Jacques Villeneuve said: “I am very excited to be participating in the RAC TT Celebration. It was very frustrating seeing all my pals having fun racing it out last year while I was sitting watching. Driving the Cobra on such a fun track will be an exceptional moment, can’t wait!”
The Duke of Richmond CBE DL said: "Every year, we are privileged to welcome some of the world’s greatest drivers and riders to the Goodwood Revival. Drawing on experience from across the breadth of motorsport, these competitors turn their skill and passion to historic racing, often facing rivals they’d never otherwise meet on the track. I’m grateful to them for taking the time to join us over the weekend and look forward to seeing them in action.”
Jacques Villeneuve joins the previously-announced line-up of drivers and riders set to race at this year’s event, alongside the Alfa Romeo celebration, VW Type 2 Split Screen track opening parade, celebration for two-time Formula 1 World Champion Jim Clark and all-sustainable fuel race list.
Saturday tickets for the Goodwood Revival are now sold out, with limited Friday and Sunday tickets remaining at goodwood.com
